Say each word slowly separating out the first sound from the rest of the word, such as /gr/-asshopper. Have your child blend the word parts to say the complete word: grasshopper. Then have your child point to the photo of the word: /b/-eetle, /l/-adybug, /gr/-asshopper, /a/-nt, /cr/-icket, /m/-antis.
