- These are the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. Point to the people in the photo. We can tell how big the pyramids are because the people look so small next to them.
- Ask: How do you think the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids?
- Invite your child to build a pyramid with toothpicks and play dough.
- Build a square base by connecting four toothpicks at their corners with balls of play dough.
- Poke a toothpick in each corner of the square base.
- Join the four standing toothpicks by tipping them to the center and joining them with one ball of play dough to make the top of the pyramid.
